"Changes" for trombone and loop pedal

I wrote this piece for trombone and loop pedal in 2017 over the course of my wife’s pregnancy with our first baby. The piece reflects the emotions and feelings that I went through as we experienced and braced ourselves for some of the biggest changes in our lives. Feelings of excitement, anxiety, self doubt, and overwhelming joy pass from one to the other, eventually culminating in a sense of deep peace and relaxation. Recorded as part of the Colorado Public Radio’s Classical Performance Studio on Feb. 6, 2018.

While living in Norfolk, VA, I had a huge finished basement that was perfect for hosting what I eventually came to call salon parties.  The whole point was to have a space where friends and colleagues felt comfortable sharing their musical interests outside of what we do for work.  These are a few of the pieces that I wrote and arranged for these such events.
